Terms of Use

Last updated 4 November 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Libut Café (run by Raiyan Asaral in Zamboanga City, Philippines). By using the Libut Café app or website, you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Libut Café.

If you got the app from Apple’s App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. These terms add to it; they’re between you and us, not Apple, and Apple isn’t responsible for the app or its content. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play’s terms also apply to the download.

1. What Libut Café is

Libut Café is a guide to cafés in Zamboanga City: hours, menus, photos, a map, check-ins, a passport of the cafés you’ve been to, freedom walls, a caffeine diary and more. It’s free to use.

The app is still growing. Its features, layout and content can change, move or stop at any time, with or without notice.

2. Café information is a guide

We work hard to keep café details right, and many cafés are visited in person. But hours, prices, menus and other details change, sometimes without warning.

  • Menus show the date their prices were last checked (“Prices as of …”). Hours show when they were last checked.
  • Please check with the café before you rely on anything important, such as opening hours, a price or an allergy.
  • “Verified” means Libut Café visited the café in the month shown. It isn’t a guarantee of anything else.
  • Ratings on a café are Libut Café’s own opinion from a visit.
  • Cafés are independent businesses. Libut Café doesn’t sell their food or drinks and isn’t responsible for them.

3. Food labels

Libut Café does not certify halal. Our food labels mean only this:

  • “No pork on the menu”: the café says so, or its full menu has none.
  • “Muslim-owned”: only when the café says so itself.
  • “Has pork on the menu”: the café’s menu includes pork.
  • “Halal-certified by” and the certifier’s name: only when the café showed us a certificate. The certifier, not Libut Café, is responsible for that certificate.

If it matters to you, ask the café.

4. Caffeine numbers are estimates

The caffeine diary and its numbers are rough estimates from typical recipes and sizes. They are not medical advice. Ask a doctor if caffeine is a health concern for you.

5. Your account

You can use most of Libut Café without an account. Some things need one, such as writing on a freedom wall, checking in, keeping your passport, claiming a café or sending us a message.

  • Keep your sign-in safe. You’re responsible for what’s done with your account.
  • Your profile is private until you choose to show it on the leaderboards. You can switch it back any time.
  • You can delete your account in the app (Saved → your account → Delete account).
  • We may suspend or delete an account that breaks these terms or the Community rules.

6. What you post

Freedom-wall notes, comments, visitor ratings and notes, photos, profile names and pictures, and anything else you share are “your content”.

  • Follow the Community rules (libutcafe.com/community). There’s no tolerance for hateful, harassing, sexual or violent content, spam, or personal information about other people.
  • Only post what you have the right to post. Don’t post photos of other people without their permission.
  • You keep ownership of your content. You give Libut Café permission to show it in the app and on the website, and to store and resize it, for as long as it’s posted.
  • Notes go through an automatic check, and some wait for a person to look at them.
  • We can remove any content, at any time, for any reason. We can block or ban people who break the rules.
  • You can report a note or comment, and block someone so you stop seeing their notes. We review reports and act on them, usually within 24 hours.
  • Private notes and the caffeine diary are yours only. We don’t show them to anyone.

7. Café owners

If you claim a café, you confirm that you own it or are allowed to manage it, and you agree to show proof when we ask.

  • We may check your claim and say no, or remove your access later if a claim turns out to be wrong.
  • Hours, closures, Wi-Fi and amenities you change show straight away. Menus, photos, events and new contact details can wait until Libut Café has checked them.
  • Offers and perks you add are your café’s promise to customers. Please honour them.
  • Managing your café never changes where it appears in lists.

Claiming a café and using the owner tools is free today. We may later offer paid plans with extra tools. Updating your café’s hours, closures, contact details and menu prices will stay free. We’ll give owners at least 30 days’ notice before any tool they use becomes paid. Paying never changes where a café appears in lists or search.

Our rankings aren’t for sale. Paid spots are always labelled Sponsored, and money never changes our ratings, the Verified seal, Trending, or the order the other cafés earned.

  • Sponsored cafés appear only in a separate Featured spot, always labelled “Sponsored”.
  • If Sponsored entries ever appear in a list, they will only show when the café matches the filters you chose, at most one per list, always labelled “Sponsored”, and never inside Trending, ratings, Libut’s pick or the Verified seal.
  • Libut’s pick is never paid. It’s chosen by Libut Café.

9. Photos and takedown requests

Café photos come from Libut Café’s own visits, the café’s own pages, customers’ public posts or the café’s logo, and are credited on the café’s page.

If you own a photo or other content on Libut Café and want it credited differently or removed, email libutcafe@raiyanasaral.com with a link to it and how you’re connected to it. We’ll reply, and remove it if it’s yours.

10. Things you agree not to do

Don’t misuse Libut Café: no fake check-ins or claims, no scraping or copying the café data in bulk, no trying to break into the app or our servers, and nothing illegal.

11. Maps and other services

The map is provided by Google Maps. By using the map you agree to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. Directions open in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. Those services have their own terms, and we’re not responsible for them.

12. Limits on our liability

Libut Café is provided “as is”. We don’t promise it will always be available, free of errors, or that every detail is correct.

As far as the law allows, Libut Café isn’t liable for any loss that comes from using it or relying on its information, including a trip to a café that turned out to be closed, a price that changed, or anything that happens at a café. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Philippine consumer law.

13. Philippine law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Zamboanga City, unless the law says otherwise.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. The ‘Last updated’ date shows when. If you keep using Libut Café after an update, you accept the new terms.
