Delete your data

How to delete your Libut Café account, what’s on your phone, and anything you’ve sent us.

Libut Café app, by Raiyan Asaral. An account is optional. If you have one, delete it in the app: Saved → your account → Delete account. To delete anything you sent while signed out, email libutcafe@raiyanasaral.com. Anonymous usage counts can be switched off in About. Everything else lives on your phone and goes when you delete the app.

Your account

In Libut Café, open Saved, tap your account, then Delete account. It’s deleted for good, straight away, from our servers:

  • your sign-in (email address, or your Apple or Google sign-in) and your profile name and picture;
  • your saved cafés, private notes, visits and check-ins, badges and answers about cafés;
  • the wall notes you wrote while signed in, and anyone you blocked;
  • your push ID’s link to your account, and any café you manage as an owner.

Reports you sent stay, with nothing linking them to you any more. What’s on your phone stays until you delete the app (see below). If you can’t open the app, email us from the address you sign in with and we’ll delete the account for you.

On your phone

Saved cafés, private notes, your caffeine diary and settings, the notes you’ve written and hidden on walls, and the stored café list are kept on your phone only. To remove them all, delete the app:

  • iPhone: touch and hold the Libut Café icon, then Remove App → Delete App. Also remove any Libut Café widgets.
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Libut Café → Storage → Clear storage, or uninstall the app.

You can also remove single things in the app: unsave a café, delete a private note, or remove a drink from your caffeine diary.

What you’ve sent us

Two kinds of things reach us only when you send them (anonymous usage counts are covered below):

  • Reports: a suggested café, a correction, a closure report or a claim, with a contact if you added one.
  • Wall notes and wall reports: a note you left on a café’s wall, with a name if you typed one, or a report about a note.

Anything you sent while signed out isn’t tied to an account, so the app can’t delete it for you, and we can’t tell which ones are yours unless you tell us. Wall notes you wrote while signed in go when you delete your account.

How to ask

  1. Email libutcafe@raiyanasaral.com with the subject “Delete my data”.
  2. Say what to delete. For a wall note: the café, roughly when you posted, and what it said. For a report: roughly when you sent it, what it said, and the contact you gave, if any.
  3. We’ll reply within 15 days to confirm it’s done, or to ask for more detail if we can’t find it.

What gets deleted

  • The note or report is deleted from our database, not just hidden. That includes any name or contact you gave with it.
  • Deleting a note also deletes any reports other people made about it.
  • Reports about wall notes are deleted after 90 days anyway; other reports within 12 months, once they’re handled.
  • Nightly backups are kept for 14 days, so a deleted note or report is gone from them within 14 days.
  • We may keep an email you sent us, including your request, for as long as we need it to show we handled it. Ask, and we’ll delete that too.

Café details (names, hours, menus, café photos) are about cafés, not about you. If you own a café and want its listing or photos changed or removed, see for café owners.

Anonymous usage counts

Unless you’ve switched it off, the app also sends anonymous counts of a few kinds of taps (such as which cafés are opened) to PostHog. They’re tied only to a random install ID that isn’t linked to you, so we can’t tell which counts are yours. To stop them, go to About → Share anonymous usage; deleting the app resets the random ID. The counts are deleted after 30 days. Details in the privacy policy.
