About the app

In one line: Zamboanga City’s cafés: today’s hours, dated menus, a quiet map and pop-ups.

In a paragraph:

Libut Café is a café guide to Zamboanga City, made by someone who goes to them. Libut means to go around, to roam: café to café. Libut Café is visiting every café in person. Once it has, the café shows a Verified seal with the month of the visit; until then it says “Listed”, so you always know what’s been checked. It shows cafés open now and near you with today’s hours, real menus with the date their prices were checked, a quiet map, pop-ups and events, and directions in Google Maps, Waze or Apple Maps. Saved cafés, private notes and a caffeine diary, with Home and Lock Screen widgets, stay on your phone; any café can be shared as a postcard; and each café has a freedom wall you can only write on while you’re there. It won’t copy ratings or photos from other sites, or call a café halal unless the café has shown a certificate. Our rankings aren’t for sale: paid spots are always labelled Sponsored, and money never changes our ratings, the Verified seal, Trending, or the order the other cafés earned. No ad networks, no sign-in needed, and we never keep your location.

The name and the logo

libut: to go around, to roam. Here, café to café, around Zamboanga City.

The logo is the name, set in Newsreader italic. The u is drawn as a cup with two wisps of steam, and the dot on the i is a coffee bean. The app icon is “libut” in stone on matcha green.
