Email libutcafe@raiyanasaral.com; we usually reply within two days. Most fixes are quicker from inside the app, though, so start here.

Where can I get the app?

On iPhone, Libut Café is on the App Store (iOS 15 or later). On Android, it’s on Google Play (Android 7.0 or later). It’s free, with no ad networks.

Something about a café is wrong

Open the café in Libut Café, scroll to the bottom and tap Something wrong? Tell us. Pick what’s changed (hours, closed for good, or something else) and tell us. We check before updating, so it may take a few days to show.

A café has closed

On the café’s page, tap Something wrong? Tell us, then Closed for good. Each phone can report a café closed once. When two signed-in people say a café has closed, it shows “Reported closed · Libut Café is checking”. The café stays listed until we’ve checked.

A café is missing

Go to About → Suggest a café and tell us its name, barangay, and what you like about it. New cafés are added as they’re found and checked.

I own a café

On your café’s page, tap Own this café? Claim it (or go to About → Own a café?) and leave a way to reach you. We’ll contact you to confirm it’s your café, then you can keep its hours and menu up to date. Being listed is free, and paying can never change where a café appears. More on the page for café owners.

The freedom wall

I can’t write on a café’s wall

Notes are written at the café, so Libut Café checks on your phone that you’re there. If it can’t:

  • Allow location for Libut Café, “While Using the App”. On iPhone, also turn on Precise Location; an approximate location can’t tell whether you’re at the café.
  • Step near a window or outside for a moment, then tap Check I’m here again.
  • A café with no map pin yet can’t be checked, so its wall is read-only for now.

Your location isn’t sent anywhere for this check. You can read any wall from anywhere.

My note says it’s waiting

Most notes go up right away. A few wait for a quick check first, for example if they include a phone number, an email, a link or an @handle, and photos from new writers. You’ll see yours on the wall, marked “waiting”, in the meantime.

A note is unkind, untrue or about a person

Tap the note to report it, or to hide it on your phone. A note reported by three signed-in people is hidden until we’ve checked it. Once we’ve checked a note, new reports come to us instead of hiding it. You can also email us. If it’s your café’s wall, see walls for café owners.

I want my own note removed

On the phone you wrote it on, tap your note, then Delete your note. Deleting your account also deletes the notes you wrote while signed in. Otherwise, email us with the café, roughly when you posted, and what it said, and we’ll remove it. Details on Delete your data.

Location and the map

  • Libut Café needs a signal to load the map. With no signal, Discover shows the café list from the last time you were online.
  • Location is optional. Libut Café asks only when you tap “Use my location” or “Show my location”. To change it: iPhone Settings → Libut Café → Location; Android Settings → Apps → Libut Café → Permissions.

The caffeine numbers

They’re estimates from typical drinks and sizes, not measurements, and not medical advice. A café’s beans, shots and cups change the real amount. You can set how fast caffeine wears off for you, your bedtime and your daily guide in the caffeine settings. If you’re unsure what’s right for you, ask a doctor.

Anonymous usage counts

Libut Café counts a few kinds of taps, like which cafés are opened and which buttons are used, to see what’s popular. The counts never include what you type, where you are, your notes or your caffeine diary. It’s on unless you turn it off: go to About → Share anonymous usage. While it’s off, nothing is sent. The full list is in the privacy policy.

Your data

No ad networks, no sign-in needed, and we never keep your location. Anonymous usage counts can be switched off in About. Read the privacy policy, or see how to delete your data.
